Another Short Course National Qualifying Time

21st Nov, 2022

I had a long but exciting meet at the weekend at the City of Leicester Open Meet. I just missed out on qualifying in the 200m IM, 50m Backstroke and 100m Backstroke events, but managed to secure the 200m Backstroke event for the 15 years and under age group.

A few pbs along the way, finals in the 100m and 200m events and I also picked up a few medals to add to my collection.

Excited to be training hard now for this National event in 2 weeks time at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

East Midlands Regional SC Swimming Champs

9th Nov, 2022

Last weekend was the East Mids Regional SC champs.

I qualified for the 50 fly which is my favorite event.

This is a great achievement for me as I can only train 1 to 2 times per week as my sailing training and racing has taken priority this last year. I didn't get a PB but I am proud of my performance and really happy to have the opportunity to race at this level against the best of the best in the region

East Midlands Short Course Regionals

7th Nov, 2022

This weekend saw a long and busy weekend. I qualified for many events but decided to concentrate on the backstroke and individual medley to try to secure a place at Nationals in December.

I swam 6 events across the weekend and made finals in all but 400 IM which was heat declared. The 400 IM had to be my best event where I came 4th in the under 15 years needing a 5.12 to qualify but gained my national qualifying time in 5.06.67!

The silver medal was from the 100m backstroke final event where I slipped under 1.07 and took the silver.

It was a very long weekend with warm up starting at 7.45am in Nottingham and finals finishing around 12 hours later, both days, but I learnt a lot, enjoyed watching and supporting my team mates, made new friends from other clubs and gained 5 personal best times along the way.

Training

7th Nov, 2022

I have been training for the Nationals coming up in December.

I am struggling with 2 ingrown toe nails and trying to get through till after the nationals when I will be having them removed but it means I will be out for a few weeks but hopefully next season will be a good start for me!

Start to the Cyclocross season

4th Nov, 2022

This year I have had a really good start to my cyclocross season. I started with a win in the Scottish Cyclocross series before the British Nationals began. I had my best ever result with 4th Elite and U23 in round 2 of the National Trophy Series, which I then backed up with 3rd U23 and 6th Elite in round 3. I am currently sitting in 3rd place for the overall U23 and Elite standings at the halfway point in the season. I have been very happy with my start to the season and I am improving in each race, I am looking forward to finishing strong.
