Festival of Stories

Everyone enjoys sharing stories, and the Festival of Stories, created by Leicestershire County Council's participation and libraries teams, is all about bringing families and friends together throughout the summer holidays to be inspired, to create, and to enjoy themselves.

From the 7^th-22^nd August, Leicestershire Libraries across the county will be hosting over 50 exciting events, including storytelling, theatre workshops, author talks, dance, art, music, and more.

There are three themes to the festival:

Stories to Inspire – offering challenging and thought-provoking performances as well as inspiration from renowned artists and writers.

Creating Stories – inviting people of all ages to create new stories and memories by taking part in a wide range of activities.

Stories of Us - focusing on community events in villages and towns across Leicestershire.

As part of 'Stories of Us', Active Together, in partnership with our local authority partners and local sports providers, are delivering a series of fun, family sport and activity sessions:

Thurs 12^th August, 10.30am, Lutterworth Library

Sat 14^th August, 10am, Castle Donnington Library

Weds 18^th August, 2pm, Cosby Community Library

Fri 20^th August, 10am, King George V Playing Field, Enderby

Most of the events making up the Festival of Stories programme will be face-to-face, but there are several workshops taking place online.
