Molly's Gift Activity Volunteer Programme
The Activity Volunteer Programme is another way we are looking to support young people, by offering a FREE course which will help to educate and inspire them into becoming activity volunteers within their local community. This will be an extremely useful process for the young people who want to get into community volunteering, sports coaching and leadership. We also will provide an oppourtunity for those who come on this course to attend our Winter Holiday Activity & Food Programme from Mon 20th-Thurs23rd December to gain some valuable hands on work experience. We have also partnered with Active Charnwood to provide information to the young people on other exit routes to volunteer within the community as well as Molly's Gift.
Active Together (formerly LRS) have partnered with SLQ Sports Leaders to support and encourage young people to play an active role in volunteering. The Activity Volunteer Programme provides young people with the perfect opportunity to build and test their personal development, inspiring others in their community both inside and out of school. The new programme of learning is designed to offer young people a pathway into volunteering through building transferable core skills that complement their wider education journey. Each of the programme's sessions targets one of five skills from SLQ Sports Leaders' Skills Framework. Those five skills, which were identified by Youth Employment UK as being the most in-demand by employers, are Self-belief, Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork and Self-Management.
