The 11th FAI Women's World Gliding Championships

From 13th – 27th August 2022, the world's top sportswomen will race in their high-performance gliders, also known as sailplanes, over 14 intense competition days and thousands of kilometers to become the new World Champion.

12 competing nations, 43 elite gliding pilots with crews and supporters plus hundreds of visitors are on their way here to enjoy the Women's World Gliding Championships 2022 this August.

Hosted for the first time in Great Britain, this amazing once in a lifetime event is coming to the Gliding Centre, Husbands Bosworth in South Leicestershire for a full fortnight of action this Summer.

9 August Community open day Husbands Bosworth Village Hall

13 August - Join an opening ceremony to welcome the teams in local market towns

Market Harborough Opening Ceremony

Marching band & teams parade 11am. Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire and speeches on the Square, Harborough FM, food stalls, glider simulator, shop windows dressed,

Lutterworth Opening Ceremony

Town crier greets the team arrivals at 1pm in the Square, prizes, kids fun activities, dressed shop window trail, glider simulator and full size glider.

20-21 August

Open weekend at Husbands Bosworth

Come and see the gliders in action, world racing and competing. Lots of activities for a great family day out.

26 August

Get your tickets for the Aerosparx international pyrotechnic display & party night celebration at Husbands Bosworth for a night to remember with stalls and food on offer.
