Loughborough Santa Fun Run 2022

This Christmas, join us as we dash through Loughborough as for the first time we bring you the Loughborough Santa Run!

Taking place on Sunday 4 December, this festive event is perfect for the whole family… whether you want to hop, skip, dance or run the route "yule" be sure to have lots of fantastic festive fun. As a gift from us to you this Christmas, everyone who signs up to take part will also receive their very own Santa suit (under-3s are free but do not receive a suit) before they start the run; while you'll also receive a finishers medal once you've crossed the finish line.

And to get all the family involved, the event is also open to your 'Santa Paws', so bring your pooches along too*. To help make the event 'pawsome' for the four-legged friends taking part, there's also the opportunity to purchase a Festive Dog Bandanna when booking - because we wouldn't want dogs to feel left out!

The route:

Loughborough is set to be filled with Santas who are invited to take on the 5km route as they help spread Christmas cheer.

Starting in the Market Place, you'll ho-ho-hop your way through Queens Park down to the University before making your way back along Epinal Way and finishing back in the Market Place. Make sure to smile for our photographers along the route who'll be capturing lots of snaps of the festive fun!

Festive fun on the day:

Make sure you're on the good list and arrive for registration from 9am.

On your marks, get set, run… the race starts at 11am – leaving plenty of time to head for some Christmas shopping afterwards!

On the day, we'll also be joined by the Loughborough Panto Dame and Bouncing Becky, who'll make sure there is lots of festive fun and the perfect warm up ahead of the race!

Ticket prices:

• Adult (14-years-old and above): £12.50 (prices include the Santa suit – one size fits all)
• Under-14s: £5 (prices include the Santa suit – suit sizes are 5-8 years old, 9-14, 11-14 years old)
• Doggy Bandana: £2.50

Festive fundraising:

All the money from your registration fee will ensure Rainbows can organise the best Santa Run Loughborough has ever seen, as well as helping us to support our children, young people and families.

Sponsorship:

Fundraising isn't compulsory for the Loughborough Santa Run- you can simply turn up and run! However, this year you can choose to support Rainbows or one of our two charity partners by raising money through sponsorship. If every participant raised a minimum of £20 that really would make a huge difference to local charities and not-for-profits.

Rainbows: If you choose to support Rainbows every penny you raise from fundraising as part of your Loughborough Santa Run really will make a big difference brightening short lives, and fundraising couldn't be easier as our team will support you every step of the way. If you raise over £50 you will also receive a special Rainbows gift!

Alternatively, you can choose to support one of this year's partnership charities, PROSTaid or Pawsitive CIC, during the booking process.

PROSTaid: PROSTaid support local men and their families affected by prostate cancer, raising awareness, funding four prostate cancer specialist nurses in local NHS hospitals and running four monthly support groups where they help local men on their treatment journey. PROSTaid receive no government money instead just relying on the kindness and generosity of local people.

Pawsitive Squad CIC: If you choose to fundraise for Pawsitive Squad CIC, you'll be helping them to train life changing assistance dogs for disabled children and young people.

We'd also love to see your photos as you take part, so make sure you tag us in any posts you put on social. We'll be sure to shout about your fantastic achievements in helping us brighten short lives!

Santa Suit Collection:

Santa Suits and race numbers can be collected in advance from the Loughborough Building Society, 4 High St, Loughborough LE11 2PY from Saturday 19th November.

Collection times:

• Monday to Friday 10am to 12.00pm and 2pm to 3.30pm
• Saturday 9.30am to 11am

Please ensure to take a printed or electronic copy of your booking confirmation with you to the building society.

Alternatively just present your confirmation email at the Rainbows registration desk on the day of the event. Registration will be open from 9.00am
