Encouraging more people to get involved in cycling through the provision of branded delivery material and resources to support fun and engaging activity.

About British Cycling - Places to Ride Activation Packages

Through the Places to Ride programme, there is an opportunity to support local opportunities to ride, through provision of equipment and toolkits that can be used by community groups, clubs, schools and leisure operators to provide local cycling activity.

The Places to Ride programme will cover 80% of the cost of these packages, in return for a commitment to deliver and report on subsequent enabled activity over the next three years. The exact cost of the equipment package will vary, as there is a core element with the option to add to this depending on the intended outcomes of the project. To provide an idea of cost the core package for the community, club and school package is £1,250.

It is important to note that for schools the fund cannot be used to simply provide curricular or 'school-only' equipment. The Places to Ride programme focus is on extra-curricular activity and therefore links to local clubs, existing cycling facilities, recreational programmes and community activity will be an essential aspect of any successful school awards.
