Cycle Challenge

One-off £300 grants are available for projects, rides, publicity, training or other events which help get more people on their bikes. The scheme is open to city-based groups to promote more people cycling, more safely and more often in Leicester.

Funds are limited, discretional and likely to be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you're interested, we recommend you come along to one of our monthly workshops to share event ideas, and meet people who are supporting cycling in Leicester. The workshops are held at City Hall at 6.30pm on the third Wednesday of the month.

Cycling UK
Cycling UK is a national charity focused on breaking down the barriers to cycling and making it accessible to a wider group of people. Organisations in Leicester can apply for grants of up to £3,000 for projects which help adults to start or return to cycling. We have two funding programmes:

Community Cycle Clubs

Groups can receive funding to start a 'club' which provides either a regular cycle ride or bike fixing session. The Community Cycle Clubs grant can cover the cost of the training and equipment needed to start the club. This can include ride leader training, first aid training, maintenance training, and the purchase of bikes, tools, and helmets.

The Big Bike Revival

The Big Bike Revival has a vision to make cycling accessible to everyone. Our mission is to deliver free events that enable people to start cycling through fixing bikes, teaching skills and leading rides.
