About Intelligent Energy Charitable Trust

The Intelligent Energy Charitable Trust seeks to make a positive impact on our local community. The Charitable Trust supports charitable and voluntary organisations in the Charnwood area, including community groups, young people, neglected animals and lifelong learning.

To be eligible to apply for a donation, your charity or organisation must comply with the following criteria:

  • Donations must principally benefit people who live or operate in the Charnwood borough
  • The minimum amount that can be applied for is £1,000 and the maximum amount is £25,000
  • Applicants do not have to have registered charitable status but donations must meet the Charity Commission Criteria
  • The funds applied for must only be used for the project you have detailed in your application

In particular, the Trust will seek to award donations to charities and organisations that support and help:

  • Children and young people
  • People with disabilities
  • Neglected or abandoned animals
  • Lifelong learning
  • Community and social development
  • Sports and leisure
  • Alleviation of hardship

The Trust meets twice per year, in April and October. Applications received between 1st October and 31st March will be considered at the April meeting and those received between 1st April and 30th September will be considered at the October meeting.
