About Education Manager

You will be able to connect, collaborate and work across different systems to enhance our mission to use sport as a driver for positive change. You will have experience of building successful relationships with schools, with a strong understanding of the education landscape and that of partner organisations, understanding the challenges and opportunities they face, collaborating with them to find solutions and achieve impact. You will also be managing key programmes including the Opening School Facilities programme with oversight of the Woodsmith Achieve programme and the School Games.

Underpinning all of this will be a commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people and principles of equity and equality and well as being a champion for the voice of young people.

The role sits as part of our Children and Young People (CYP) team, driving our CYP plan with a focus on the role of Physical Activity and Sport in school improvement, pupil attainment, enjoyment and Health and Well Being. As you will have access to children, the successful candidate will undertake a DBS check.

Key relationships will include Teachers and School Leaders, School Games Organisers, Activity providers and the Local Education Authorities and Educational Trusts, to identify priorities for physical activity delivery and investment. You will have direct line management responsibility for staff working on the School Games and the Woodsmith Achieve Programme.

We can offer you a challenging and rewarding role at an exciting time for the charity. As well as the standard employee benefits such as a contributory pension scheme, Death in Service Insurance, a generous holiday allowance etc, we also offer a commitment to support personal development. You will be working in a team that is supportive and, according to our latest staff satisfaction survey, would unanimously recommend the organisation as a great employer to work for.

North Yorkshire Sport recognise the positive value of diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.
