About Activity Leader (SEND Short Breaks Club)

Working at SSG Activities is a lot of fun, it is action packed and every day is different. You will get to work with lots of different groups of children, young people and adults by contributing to the many activity programmes we operate, all as part of a team of like-minded individuals.

We are looking for positive, motivational and experienced individuals to join our team.

This highly rewarding role includes facilitating fun and inclusive meaningful play, arts / crafts and sensory play sessions to a range of children with special educational needs and disabilities. The role is broken down into three key functions - Activity Leader, Care Leader and Room Leader and expectations are that you will work across each function as required.

We are looking for individuals with at least one year experience delivering activities to SEND children through engaging activities and methods focusing on achieving positive experiences and developmental outcomes.

In addition to the specialist area of delivery, we are looking for individuals who have a strong understanding of pastoral care, safeguarding, health and safety, parent engagement and customer care and activity health and safety.

The role requires the following as part of the job description:

  • A positive, enthusiastic, can do attitude
  • Smart professional appearance and effective time keeping
  • Ability to plan and prepare for sessions with creative ideas.
  • Effective and timely session set up
  • Strong and positive people skills (both with children and adults)
  • Appropriate knowledge within the area of delivery
  • Effective and energetic delivery styles
  • Detailed admin and reporting skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop as a professional and become an effective member of a team.

This is a permanent part-time position working on Saturdays from 9.15am to 1.15pm (4 hours per week).

Salary: Up to £10.00 per hour, depending on experience.
