About The Role

The Head of Digital Learning Solutions is an integral role within the Institute of Swimming. Responsible for leading the digital strategy and overseeing the design and delivery of the Institute's suite of online and blended learning programmes.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the post comprises multiple aspects, including an understanding of learning systems, quality assurance and evaluation of our products and chosen platforms, team planning and support, internal and external stakeholder relationship management, process and workflow optimisation and overall responsibility for embedding best practices and innovation in learning design, ensuring a high-quality learner experience.

The Institute of Swimming prides itself in providing a best in class digital learning solution offer, seeing digital or online learning crossing over 90% of our education and training programmes providing unrivalled access to aquatic training.

In addition to providing services for the Institute of Swimming and Swim England, the role will also have the opportunity to work with our international partners including sporting federations and other National Governing Bodies to provide content accessible by many countries around the world.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a new role or looking for the next step in their career. This role offers a high level of autonomy for the right candidate to take forward our digital strategy supported by the Managing Director and Head of Institute of Swimming.The role is permanent and full time (35 hours per week), where the work pattern can be agreed across 4 or 5 days to suit the needs of the business and the ideal candidate. The role is based working from home predominantly, yet there will be a requirement to travel to our Loughborough (Leicestershire) office as and when required, which is not anticipated to be more than once a month. About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrable experience in leading a digital learning provision, ideally within a learning & education setting.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of digital learning systems and tools to create and maintain an effective learning environment and excellent customer experience.
  • Hold an appropriate level of technical knowledge and a sound understanding of how systems and platforms work together.
  • The ability to form and sustain relationships with a variety of internal and external partners, leading relationships with authority and confidence.
  • Experience as a strong people manager, managing a small team of technical experts operating in the digital learning space.
  • The ability to advise on our Digital Learning strategy, whilst ensuring the ongoing success of our current offer.

Knowledge of education in the sports and leisure sector would also be advantageous, but is not essential.So if you feel you have the suitable skills and attributes for this position then we would like to hear from you.
