Pay: Part Time Salary Hours for Co-ordination Role with further income from delivering on the coaching on the programme

We are seeking to employ a co-ordinator and head coach to join us in delivering tennis activity to the widest group of the community in Weymouth and surrounding areas.

The right person will be committed to a collaborative approach and developing tennis opportunities for all including:

  • A specific focus on helping people find suitable activity who would benefit the most from moving more, especially from under-represented groups.
  • Attract large numbers to return to or try tennis for the first time
  • Working closely with other local tennis venues and stakeholders to support their ambitions through providing indoor tennis access
  • Working closely with partners at the LTA to deliver the mission of 'Tennis Opened Up'

Job Description

The work involves being the point of contact for people wanting to use the indoor facilities, managing and developing a comprehensive programme with a focus on attracting underrepresented groups into the game.

You will be required to create a timetable for the work of other coaches/users to maximise the use of the centre. This use can include delivery of LTA Youth junior and adult programmes, pay and play sessions linked with mass participation of cardio and social tennis.

There is a guaranteed monthly income in the role for the administration and running of the centre with the opportunity for significant additional income generation for the right candidate through delivery of coaching hours.

Person Specification

A reliable, enthusiastic, motivated individual who wants to work with Active Dorset in leading the renewed development of this strategically important tennis facility. To have a minimum of LTA Level 3 accredited + and demonstrable experience and confidence to engage with all ages and abilities on a public tennis programme. The knowledge / experience of working with schools or education settings is required.

The candidate requires strong administration and interpersonal skills, with experience in similar roles considered advantageous. Knowledge of clubspark and financial management will also be required for this role.

Experience of leading programmes that engage underrepresented groups In tennis is seen as an advantage (e.g. LTA Open Court Programme). Candidates should be available to work flexibly including weekdays and weekends and have a vision to build a broad coaching workforce to deliver at the centre and locally.
