About Wheelchair Basketball Development Officer

We are currently tendering for a Wheelchair Basketball Development Officer to lead on the coaching and development of the Wheelchair Basketball programme at University of Nottingham for the upcoming 2022/23 season. This role holder will also lead a wider project to support the academic attainment levels of disabled students at the University of Nottingham.

The contract period runs from October 2022 – June 2023 and is for a minimum of 1,227.5 hours which is equivalent to approximately 36.5 hours a week for the duration of the contract. The Wheelchair Basketball Development Officer will hold a Wheelchair Basketball coaching qualification or equivalent coaching experience, and will also have experience in working with disabled communities and/or para-athletes. The deliverer must also hold appropriate personal liability insurance for the duration of the contract period.

The role includes leading on the coaching delivery for both training and competition, club and programme administration, athlete recruitment, club development, community outreach and disabled student/ para-athlete support. Whilst this is initially a short term contract, for the right candidate we will look to extend this into future years.
