About Health & Fitness Instructor

Active Leicester are currently recruiting for part-time and casual vacancies at their Cossington and Spence Street Sports Centres. Hours of work will be discussed at interview stages.

What you'll be doing

Working at one of Leicester's fantastic leisure centres your day-to-day activities will include delivering inductions, selling memberships, and engaging with members to provide a safe, welcoming, and motivating place to exercise. You'll play an integral role in improving members physical health and wellbeing by offering training plans, which include fitness assessments, prescribing lifestyle changes, dietary considerations and health and fitness development. You'll deliver inductions for all new members as well as forming close relationships with current members to understand their end goals to devise personal workout and fitness programmes to help them achieve this. In addition, to ensure that the environment is kept clean you'll be required to undertake remedial cleaning of fitness equipment. Working closely with the General Manager, Assistant Manager and Leisure Centre Supervisor you'll ensure that appropriate fitness programmes are available for all those who use the gym.

What you'll need

You'll hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor/Fitness Instructor qualification and will have experience of working in a health and fitness environment. With the ability to provide the highest standard of customer care, you'll ensure health and safety of customers is at the forefront of your mind. Using excellent verbal communication skills, you'll be able to effectively explain techniques to other members of staff and the centre users. Your passion and commitment to health and fitness will drive you to motivate and engage members to increase participation in physical activity.
