We are looking for staff to work at our ever-popular Camp! This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of sport-teaching specialists in a fun, team-orientated Activity Camp across all Harrogate school holidays, based at Ashville College. The casual position would suit a Primary School Teacher or experienced HLTA/TA with a passion for sport and physical activity or a Secondary School PE specialist looking for work in their scheduled time off. Our Camps are for children in Years 1 to 9 and we have a strong ethos of ‘Improving Social Skills Through Sport’ in everything we do.

About Sports Camp Team Leader

This part time casual role would involve working at our Activity Camps across school holidays, depending on your availability. You would be responsible for leading a group of up to twenty children, facilitating a day of sport and activity.

Hours: 7.45am - 4.15pm

Holidays: We are interested in applicants that can work across school holidays

Wage: Dependent on candidates teaching experience (approx. £100 per day)

Deadline for applications: We are always looking to welcome new members of staff at our expanding camps from May half term 2023 and onwards.

We are looking for Sports Professionals who can demonstrate:

● Fantastic Social skills, being able to build up positive and fun relationships with children at Camp and be a great role model.

● Experience of working in PE/Coaching at ages 5-14.

● Organised, reliable and a good communicator.

● The ability to develop and inspire children through your enthusiastic approach to all sports and activities.

● Good behaviour management.

● A passion for Sport.

Candidates will need to possess the following:

  • Experience of working in a school environment.
  • An up-to-date DBS disclosure (essential)
  • Safeguarding certificate (essential)
  • Paediatric first aid certificate (desirable)
  • Emergency First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • A Sports Graduate (desirable)

Further information

If successful, the candidate will be asked to volunteer their time (for one, shorter day) at Camp where you would meet the team and see how camp is run. You may be asked to run a session or two however you won't have full responsibility for that Team. If we are impressed and everything works for both parties then you will be invited back with a timetable for paid work.
