The #TeamEngland Workplace Challenge was launched during the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Just as the Queen took to the podium to begin her speech, Workplace Challenge piggy backed on the #TeamEngland hashtag and released a cartoon of 'Her Majesty' which generated a social reach of over 3 million, putting the #TeamEngland Workplace Challenge firmly on the map!
Across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland around 100 people took up the challenge to get more active during the Games. Read on for details of the winners...
Topping the table as the most active workplace in Leicester-Shire & Rutland is Ashmount School.
In terms of individual honours for the activity points leaderboards, Rebecca Pritchard from Leicester/shire BRUs and Ajay Pitrola from Leicester City Council (New Parks Leisure Centre) were the clear winners followed by Abi Steady from Ashmount School and Robert Prior from Broom Leys Primary School in silver and Emma Williams from Amateur Swimming Association and Roger Bonnert from Climbing Station in bronze respectively.
The individual winners of the CO2 saved leaderboards were Rebecca Pritchard from Leicester/shire BRUs and Rob Hunter from Loughborough University taking the gold medal spots followed by Joanna Steane from Leicester City Council (Ian Marlow Centre) and Glynn Attiwell from Rutland County Council (Catmose) in silver and Karen Bignold from University of Leicester (Mallard Building, Brookfield Site) and Roger Bonnert from the Climbing Station in bronze medal positions.
