8 Teams from across Leicestershire, Leicester City & Rutland, including 1 guest team, took part in the Softball Super-Series Final last week (11th June).
Crown Hills Community College (East Leicester) werefresh from winning the Year 9 Boys Rounders final on Tuesday and completed the double, being crowned champions of the Softball competition as well. Lutterworth High School (Blaby & Harborough) came second, with Casterton College (Rutland) taking home the bronze medals.
The 'Spirit of the Games' trophy was awarded to Rawlins Academy (North Charnwood). The umpires collectively believed that this school best showed the values in which the "School Games" represents - Determination, Honesty, Passion, Respect, Self-Belief and Teamwork.
The Super-Series Final saw up to 10 Key Stage 3 boys representing each partnership, which was kindly hosted by Leicester Blue Sox, one of the fastest-growing baseball and softball clubs in the UK. The competition was also supported by BaseballSoftball UK, the national development agency for baseball and softball in the United Kingdom.

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sainsbury's School Games is open to all young people aged 5-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds in every school from across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
It provides schools with the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students and provides County, Regional and National pathways for our most talented athletes.
Through our 10 local School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANs), Levels 1 and 2 are delivered across 10 partnership areas within Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland, by School Games Organisers (SGOs).
Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) deliver on the Level 3 offer, organising and delivering a calendar of County Finals throughout the year in the form of School Games Super-Series Finals and School Games Championships.
