England 7's Captain Emily Scarratt: "Olympic preparations are going well"

Emily is a former GO GOLD Ambassador and current Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games Ambassador.

2016 is a huge year for Emily having been announced as the 7's Captain, and after starting the series well in Dubai (3rd) the team are looking to continue and improve on their form throughout the season heading towards the ultimate goal of Rio!

Emily spoke to us:

"Olympic preparations are going well, we are training together as a 24 player squad including Welsh and Scottish players, and from that group the final 12 to play in Rio will be selected sometime in early July.

We still have our last World Series leg in France at the end of May and a European competition to focus on for the time being.

Everybody is staying focused and keeping their heads down on the tasks ahead. The Olympic Games is a phenomenal competition, and selection for the final 12 will be extremely competitive."
