Archery Big Weekend

From Friday 3 to Sunday 5 June, Archery GB is encouraging anyone looking to try out a new sport to pick up a bow for the first time and give archery a go, at one of the many friendly archery facilities taking part in the national Archery Big Weekend.

Following four successful years, where over 22,000 people have participated in archery during the annual event, Foresters Friendly Society is proud to be sponsoring the Archery Big Weekend in its fifth year.

Sally Waterfield, Head of Marketing for Foresters Friendly Society, Archery GB's longstanding Performance Partner, said: "Archery is a fun and accessible sport which is open to all the family. We have heard fantastic feedback about the archery days, and we would definitely encourage anyone who has never tried archery before to give it a go during the Archery Big Weekend event."

Doors will be thrown open at clubs and centres across the country and attendees will have the opportunity to join thousands of archers at the biggest archery weekend of the year, where regular club members are looking forward to sharing their passion for archery with newcomers of all ages and abilities.

Archery is an extremely inclusive sport and welcomes both young and old, men and women, and many clubs provide accessible facilities for archers with disabilities. Visitors to Archery GB's Big Weekend not only have the chance to try out a new sport, they will also have the opportunity to get involved in their local community and meet new friends.

All equipment will be provided, so all participants need to do is bring themselves and plenty of enthusiasm*. Club members will be able to lend a hand and share stories about how they started in archery. Families are welcome to come along and try a sport which they can all enjoy together.
