240+ sessions available during Feel Alive From 65 Week

In partnership with Local Authorities we are hosting 'Feel Alive from 65' Week from 26th September-2nd October.

The week offers those over 65 over 240 different opportunities to get involved in physical activity and sport in their area. Over 2,500 people took part in last year's campaign, with many of the events available completely free of charge.

With 98 different venues hosting events across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland, the week provides older adults with the opportunity to try new activities or simply rekindle their love for an old one. From badminton to Himalayan yoga, the week provides a mixture of traditional sports with more unique activities.

'Feel Alive from 65' is a week long campaign which is primarily aimed at helping older adults stay healthy and mobile. In addition to the physical benefits of 'Feel Alive', the week also provides the chance for over 65's to make new friends and memories.

'Feel Alive from 65' Celebration – Nominate someone you know

As part of this fantastic campaign, Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) is pleased to announce the 5th Annual 'Feel Alive from 65 Celebration' where they will recognise our active older generation. This prestigious event is being sponsored once again by imago and will take place on Thursday 27th October 2016 at The Link Hotel, Loughborough.

Nominations are sought, for those over the age of 65 who are participating in physical activity either personally, for the benefit of others or through volunteering in the community. As in previous years, considering all the nominations received, an award for the actual 'Oldest Participant' will also be presented at the Celebration.

• Active Ageing Award
• Active Environment Award
• Referral Scheme Award
