Team Leicestershire returns for 2017

Team Leicestershire makes its triumphant return for 2017 with hockey action at St Margaret's Pastures.

The Year 9 & 10's played out their final back in November at the same venue, with temperatures reaching barely above the minuses. But as the nights begin to lighten a little earlier, the younger years will have the chance to warm themselves with hockey glory.

Five boy's sides will battle it out on the night, representing five of the nine districts. The competing schools are:

• Soar Valley College
• Ivanhoe College
• Dixie Grammar
• Shepshed High School
• Humphrey Perkins School

Ivanhoe will be looking to make it double glory having taken home the Year 9/10 trophy. They finished ahead of second placed Market Bosworth School. Shepshed, Humphrey Perkins and Soar Valley all took part in that final and will be looking to improve their result this time around.

They will share the same stage as five Year 7/8 girls teams, all of whom will be looking to pick up the first Team Leicestershire trophy of the calendar year. The sides taking part are:

• Welland Park Academy
• Ivanhoe College
• Dixie Grammar
• Charnwood College
• Humphrey Perkins School

The Dixie Grammar girls have the opportunity to live up to the years above, with the Year 9/10 girls achieving glory after finishing above Humphrey Perkins. Charnwood College also return having finished in fourth spot last time around.
