Volunteer at the Champions Trophy and World Cup

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are looking for volunteers to apply to work at this summer's Champions Trophy and Women's World Cup.

The big summer of cricket is destined to be historic, with British shores hosting two of the most important international competitions in the sport. The Champions Trophy sees the top eight international sides meet in One-Day matches, with previous winners India hoping to defend their crown. This year will be the third time England have hosted the tournament - in the previous two, they finished runners up.

The World Cup will be the 11th and the first in Britain since 1993. England have tasted glory on three occasions, with the last coming in 2009. Currently ranked second in the world behind old rivals Australia, the WCWC promises to be a special event.

But it can't be done without the help and support of Cricketeers, who will be on hand at every point of the competition to ensure both tournaments run smoothly and emulate previous successful competitions. Though the Champions Trophy is not held at Leicestershire's County Ground, the World Cup is one of the chosen venues for matches, along with Derbyshire.

Roles are varied, but the ECB have narrowed the categories down to six separate departments. These are:

  • Transport
  • Spectator Services
  • Media
  • Accreditation
  • Hospitality
  • Events and Sponsors activation

Places are limited and will be decided through interview selection throughout February and March. Successful applicants will then need to complete training days prior to the tournaments, before being at the forefront of international cricket.

The deadline for entries is January 9th, so be sure to get your applications sent in before the cut-off.
