Is your School looking to improve their PE, School Sport, Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing offer?

School Sport, Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing Apprentices are employed directly by their host school or through IMPACT Employment Solutions (partner apprenticeship agency) to support the delivery of health and wellbeing through PE and school sport in schools.

Apprentices attend College 1 day per week to undertake professional qualifications and training. The apprenticeship is a one-year contract and starts with a summer training programme every July.

In conjunction with Loughborough College, the programme has seen outstanding success rates and has had a lasting impact on the participating primary, secondary and special schools, many of whom have gone on to employ their apprentices.

Apprentices employed are post 16 years of age and receive outstanding training and development from Loughborough College in order to effectively carry out their role.

Figures in 2014/15 show that the programme has produced 56 specialist PE Apprentices who have been deployed in 71 schools since 2011 to promote PE, Sport and Physical Activity to young people and support PE co-ordinators/departments and all school staff.

For 2016/17, 21 School Sport Apprentices have been recruited and will be based in a Primary School 4-days a week developing and delivering sport and physical activity opportunities.
