Recognition for Val in Goalden Globes

Val Kindred picked up the Rose Award at the 2017 England Netball Goalden Globe Awards.

Val, who is the Netball Development Officer for Leicestershire and Rutland, was recognised for her tireless contribution to netball. As described on the England Netball website, "This special honour is awarded for a notable contribution to Netball in any capacity, which can encompass any aspect of the game and its administration."

And it was a joint-celebration, with both Val Kindred and Mo Squires taking home the Rose trophy after their fantastic work in their respective areas.

Val has secured almost £60,000 to develop junior netball in three locations across Leicester and has worked with the Chair of the Leicester Netball League and several constituent clubs to recruit and train volunteers to lead the weekly sessions.

The awards evening celebrated a number of people from professional level through to voluntary, who all continue to have a positive impact and effect when it comes to netball in England.

The night also celebrated Loughborough Lightning, who picked up four individual awards for their year in the Superleague.
