Get in the Festive Mood with Santa Fun Runs!

To many, running is only a summer activity. The Olympics and Paralympics always take place in the summer and in the sunshine, with marathons in Britain usually taking place in the Spring and Autumn. . But throughout winter, running is still very much alive in the form of some good old Christmas spirit.

That is because December is the month of the Santa Fun Runs! Having grown in popularity in recent years, the Santa run, it is the same as any other form of fun run – except you wear a Santa costume! These are provided on race day by organisers, and are almost always yours to keep. Most races put a small charge for entry, with funds donated to charities. Whilst these aren't necessarily competitive, winners will be recognised with medals for all.

And the best bit about the Santa runs is that all of the family can get involved. Mum, Dad and children can all take on whichever run they like. And for some, you can even bring the dog along (Santa costume optional).
