New College Leicester takes the First Team Leicestershire Trophy

The first Team Leicestershire finals saw New College Leicester play their way to become champions after a series of thrilling encounters with six other highly competitive schools.

As the boys got stuck in, the play-offs between 5th, 6th and 7th place were incredibly close, with all boys deserving recognition for their efforts. Limehurst, Hastings, Crown Hills and New College managed to pull away by earning a place in the final play-offs, with each of their places soon decided after some thrilling matches. The final saw some exhilarating rallies, although New College Leicester managed to spark the magic to nick pole position at key times throughout their games.

The next set of table tennis finals will see U-13 boys competing at Judgemeadow Community College on the 16th November.

At this first event of the year, there was a very high-level of great sportsmanship, passion and professionalism on display from all competing schools on the night. The complete table for Wednesday's event highlights:
