GO GOLD Athlete of the Week: Evan Blackman

Evan knows a thing or two when it comes to dealing with pressure as an athlete, capture a snippet of his journey behind the scenes in this week's #GOGOLD Athlete of the Week:

1. What is my favourite thing about my sport?

My favourite thing about my sport is that the performance on the day of the competition is all based on how hard and how committed I was in training sessions. There are no other factors to blame, such as other team members. Obviously, you can be the hardest trainer in the world and still underperform because of the pressure of the event, but the more you compete, the better you can deal with the pressure.

2. One thing you don't know about me?

I was born in London, so I can compete for London, but my dad is Welsh so I am half welsh meaning I can also compete for Wales. Finally I can compete for Leicestershire and Rutland because I live in that county.

3. Where is my favourite place to go on holiday?

My favourite place to go on holiday is California, I like the universal studios and Venice beach.

4. If I could eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

I would eat honey glazed ribs.

5. What is my favourite subject at school

My favourite subject at school is sports science where I study the body and how different situations effect the performance of sport and how the body works.

6. What is my proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is coming 2nd in the 300m at Bedford 2016 running 35.84, my first time running under 36 seconds.
