GO GOLD Athlete of the Week: Alex Harris

Alex is quite a character outside of his shooting championships! Follow his journey on what he does in day-to-day life in this week's #GOGOLD Athlete of the Week:

1. Describe your typical day (including training, school, etc.).

I go into University in the morning to complete my work, before I go to the shooting ground in the afternoon to practice. On the weekends I travel to different shooting grounds around the country to compete in registered competitions and get practice in different conditions and at different shooting grounds.

2. Tell us one thing we don't know about you?

I am a keen American football fan. I support the Seattle Seahawks, and enjoy watching the games every Sunday night on TV, and the live games played in London.

3. How would your friends describe you?

My friends would describe me as energetic, hard working and friendly.

4. What are your hobbies outside of sport?

My hobbies outside sport are reading, playing computer games and history.

5. What is your biggest goal?

My biggest goal is to win the Junior high gun (Top scorer) at the upcoming World Championships in March, as well as to help the England Junior team to win the team event, and become World Champions.

6. Who is your biggest role model and why?

My biggest role model is Peter Wilson, who won Gold in the Double Trap at the London Olympics. He put in a lot of hard work and training and has managed to win just about everything in the sport.

7. Do you have anything else that you'd like us to know?

The next year will be a busy year for me with lots of travelling, with the World Championships in March in Australia, the England selections in May and the European Championship and the Home International in July in Wales, on top of all my regular travelling for competitions.
