West Leicester Win Gold and Silver on Home Turf in the Super-Series Table Tennis

On 22nd November, Table tennis was the first event to be hosted by the School Games Super-Series finals, featuring U-11 girls and year 5/6 boys at Knighton Park Table Tennis Club.

West Leicester was the stand out team of the day as Avenue Primary School came 2nd in the U-11 girls, Hinckley and Bosworth (St Peters) being the winners. While for year 5/6's, 1st spot was taken by the boys of Avenue Primary School.

The first event ran very smoothly, and support was largely appreciated from teachers and parents as they overlooked and assisted with the scoring. North West Leicestershire (Ashby Willesley) and North Charnwood (Loughborough C of E) won the 'spirit of the games' awards due to their standout encouragement and high professionalism all round.

Overall, the contribution from all teams should be recognised, with 9 participating teams of boys and girls playing at an equal standard. A special thanks to the table tennis association and Knighton Park Table Tennis for providing facilities and equipment at the very highest standard. Well done to all teams making it this far.
