Yorkshire Gold for Special Tennis Olympian Matthew Chilvers

Desford Lawn Tennis Clubs and East Midlands Special Olympian Matthew Chilvers won the division one singles on the Saturday dropping only eight games on his way to collecting the gold medal.

He followed this up on Sunday by winning the division one doubles event again collecting a gold medal. Matthew was delighted with performance over the weekend saying:

"This is a great start to the season I would like to thank Alec Matty, my coach at Desford Lawn Tennis Club for all the hard work he put in to get me ready for the tournament. It has been a great weekend and getting double gold is unbelievable. The support of Harborough District Council's Go Gold scheme has really helped me this year".

Matthew's next major tournament will be the Southern Region Tournament at Welling Garden City.
