Oadby & Wigston play out of the park to win the School Games Softball Super Series Finals!

On 21st June, the softball finals featured 8 teams to play in the Super Series Finals at Blue Sox Arena (Western Park).

The format followed a round robin of up to 3 teams playing 1 innings for a chance to get into the semi-finals. It was the winners of each group who progressed into the semi-finals which was South Charnwood vs. Hinckley and Bosworth, and West Leicester vs. Oadby & Wigston.

West Leicester narrowly missed out to reach the finals to a very strong Oadby & Wigston team, while South Charnwood got the better of Hinckley & Bosworth. There was a witness of good tactics implemented as the teams worked tirelessly to stop the runs of the opposition, with plenty of action involved.

The finals brought the best of quality in the two teams, each showing great spirit and drive to get as many home runs as they could. It was Oadby & Wigston's Manor High School who got the better of South Charnwood's Martin High School. A very entertaining finale for all to see recorded live, which can be found on the LRS Facebook page.

The Spirit of the Games winners 'West Leicester' put on a great show of passion, integrity and teamwork on the day, leading by great example what it takes to be a real professional in sport.
