2018 times have been tough...

"Six months comes and goes too fast these days, and life seems to have brought unexpected challenges both prior and during the early stages of this season.

Often it is said that "We learn more from the unexpected then the expected." Having experienced tough times, and upset I can definitely identify with this.

Keeping myself occupied with job searching as spoke of in my last post didn't last all too long, I enrolled on the Princes Trust Enterprise Programme shortly after finishing work and alongside that I am pleased to say I started a new job in January.

Starting out anywhere is always tricky, job or no job whatever it is. Everything is new, it take time to adjust. The work, life combination was somewhat overwhelming! Amongst the tough times and my there seems to have been many...

I am reminded that I am surrounded my people that support me, to be my VERY BEST I have gained continued support from Sports Aid and MyLotto24 for the second year. A BIG THANKS to British Athletics, this being an essential support helping towards sustaining funds and providing personal development tools and guidence to manage all that comes with my athletics adventure.

I returned to Switzerland again this year, and given I wasn't at my best I was apprehensive. It was my toughest yet...Another welcomed learning experience none the less, providing an change from all the unexpected challenges that I was faced with away from the beautiful Swiss surroundings. Acknowledging the POSITIVES though I achieved Seasons Best performances over the 100m, 400m and 800m.

I have had a number of races in the UK since, I have had to reflect and except the here and now to help me to move forward. I am making the best of my present circumstances, delighted that all is going in the right direction both on and off the track.

Unfortunately I didn't get selected for European Championships this August, as I've hoped. I am gutted but as I am yet to perform to my absolute best I understand all factors, focusing in the bigger picture rather than dwelling on what could have been. After all life is just one big lesson of perseverance and whilst things haven't quite worked out as I first planned I am determined to succeed.

My training doesn't stop and this season isn't over! Aside from my athletic adventure I have recently become a Young Ambassador with the Princes Trust because I know only to well the importance of such community projects. Supporting encouragement for all to do their VERY BEST, Showing that all is possible if you believe you can! Promoting empowerment for all young people through the incredible work of the Princes Trust. Such a privilege and I am excited to be involved. Thank you Princes Trust.

The excitement continues just yesterday I was back at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, happy to come away with some positive performances. Feeling the best I've felt all season! It sure is a GREAT feeling!

Looking forward to more excitement ahead Müller Anniversary Games. I love the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Stadium. Such an iconic venue can't wait!"
