GO GOLD Athlete of the Month – Lewis Colin Haslam

Lewis was determined to show what he was made of on the track in the most recent BMX Championship Series. Lewis didn't perform his best in the nationals but showed great tenacity and desire to get back on his bike to win the Midlands Regionals. Well done Lewis!

UK National BMX Series

At the weekend it was rounds 7&8 for HSBC UK National BMX Series. It was a good weekend for me on the Saturday making a final but didn't have the best finish with an 8th by getting sandwiched out the gate and then getting pushed up the corner.

Sunday was going well for me with 3/2/3 in my racing and I was leading my quarter final but then I crashed in the first corner so that was my day ending, hopefully I could do as well as I did at Telford for Gosport.

Midlands Regional BMX Series

I am very proud to say that I have won the Midlands Regional BMX series this year, after placing 3rd last year.

This was one of my biggest achievements that I have been wanting to achieve. I have been training and training for this. I've been in the gym every Tuesday and Thursday night to keep my power and strength up. Let's hope I can do it again next year!

I had my ups and downs, but I would like to thank my mum and dad, my club Leicester BMX for the support and a big thank you to Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport for the support you have given to me.
