Offering a high quality schools competition offer to all young people

During the 2017/18 academic year, Team Leicestershire and the School Games have collectively offered a comprehensive and high quality competition programme to all schools across LLR. LRS have worked in partnership with School Games Organisers and Heads of PE to create a varied programme, ensuring that schools and young people can access local competitions and where possible progress through to regional and national pathways.

Over 18,000 attendances by young people have been registered this year.
In addition, over 3,500 Team Leicestershire 'fixtures' have been played between schools across 800 competitions and leagues. Participation figures show that there was a 54% male and 46% female split, with over 1,500 black, Asian, minority ethnic (BAME) students and almost 1,000 Pupil Premium students taking part.

"The school sport competitive provision offered by Team Leicestershire and the School Games has been nothing short of outstanding. All students have the opportunity to engage and enjoy competitive sport in a wide variety of sports. There are clear progressive pathways developed to ensure that the highest ability performers are able to compete and have an experience in top level competitions. We, as a school, have entered and participated in more competitive sport than ever before. Students at our school have thoroughly enjoyed their experiences and it has certainly enriched their time at school."
