West Leicester & East Leicester take KS4 Dodgeball Victories!

Key Stage 4 Mixed Dodgeball Super-Series Final

On Tuesday, 5th February, eight primary schools competed in the Key Stage 4 Dodgeball Super-Series Final. It was a fun-filled, action-packed event with all team members taking on a competitive but compassionate spirit as they battled it out to be crowned Dodgeball Champions.

However it was East Leicester's Crown Hills CC who were the champions for the Boys and West Leicester's Sir Jonathan North Community College dodged their way to the KS4 Girls victory! With Blaby & Harborough in second for both boys and girls finals, and East Leicester in third for the girls, and North West Leicestershire for the boys. The Spirit of the Games trophy for demonstrating most the value of: passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, teamwork and determination was awarded to Ashby School (North West Leicestershire) and Catmose College (Rutland).

2nd: Blaby & Harborough (Lutterworth High School) Boys & Girls

3rd: Girls - East Leicester (Rushey Mead) Boys - North West Leicestershire (Ashby School)

4th: Girls - Oadby & Wigston (Manor High School) Boys - West Leicester (Lancaster Academy)

5th: Girls - Melton & Belvoir (Longfield Academy) Boys - Rutland (Catmose College)

6th: Girls - North West Leicestershire (Ashby School) Boys - Melton & Belvoir (John Ferneley College)

7th: Girls - Hinckley & Bosworth (Hinckley Academy) Boys & Girls

8th: Girls - South Charnwood (Catmose College) Boys - (Martin High School)

Spirit of the Games: Rutland (Catmose) & North West Leicestershire (Ashby School)

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games, now in its seventh year, is part of the national 'School Games Programme'. It aims to keep competitive sport at the heart of schools and provide more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best. It is open to all young people aged 6-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds from every school across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.

Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and the 10 School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANs), the Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games provides schools with the opportunity to enhance their existing work in school sport and create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.
