Five Separate Schools secure wins in the Team Leicestershire Girls Basketball Finals!

On Tuesday 19th, March the Team Leicestershire basketball finals brought action-packed entertainment to the Morningside Arena, Leicester.

Held at the home venue of Leicester Riders, one of the most successful sides in British basketball, schools from around the area progressed to the finals through earlier rounds. And that provided the chance to battle it out for medals, trophies and pride.

Running from 4-7pm, young people from Year 7 up to Year 11 and U18 team took to the court in search of success, with a series of finals not allowing the action to stop for a moment.

Five separate schools picked up trophies in the finals. With another successful year for Rawlins Academy and Priory Belvoir who took the Year 7 and Year 8 titles. It was also a good night for Hinckely Academy who took a triumphant defeat over last Year's Y10/11 winners, Rawlins.

Runners-up: Rawlins Academy

U18 Girls

Winners: Charnwood College

The basketball finals followed the badminton, which were held earlier in the previous week. And there is still plenty of Team Leicestershire action to come in the coming months.

Team Leicestershire is the umbrella Association for all traditional competitive school sport in secondary schools across Leicestershire, Leicester City and Rutland.
