The football season came to close on Friday 5th April as the Team Leicestershire Boys Year 7-10 finals took place.
After adverse weather conditions had disrupted the previous final dates, the sun finally played ball in providing a perfect afternoon for four finals to go ahead at Stoughton Road Playing fields, Leicester University.
The finals kicked-off with very close game between Wigston and Rawlins Academy which ended 1-2 to Wigston Academy. Welland Park failed to to fight back after a 4-0 defeat by Brockington College in the Year 8 Final. Then Wigston Academy continued their winning streak with their second win in the Year 8 final against Brookvale Groby Learning Campus ending 2 -1. Brookvale Groby then redeemed themselves in the Year 9 final against Wigston Academy, ending 2-1. The Year 10 final was a all to play for until the final few minutes of the game when Brookvale Groby took the win with a final score of 4-3 making it a double victory. The final game of the evening was South Wigston College against Thomas Estley, which ended 3-1, which meant South Wigston were the champions.
Run in partnership with the Leicestershire and Rutland Schools Football Association, all four matches showed a high calibre of talent across each team, with sides picking up victories along the way.
The wins went to: Rawlins Academy, Brockington College, Brookvale Groby Learning Campus Year 8 & 10, Thomas Estley CC.

Runners-up: Wigston Academy
Year 8 Winners: Brockington College
Runners-up: Welland Park Academy
Year 9 Winners: Brookvale Groby Learning Campus

Runners-up: Lutterworth College
Year 11 Winners: Thomas Estley CC
Runners-up: South Wigston Academy
