Record breaking Heights for Market Harborough Youth Netball Club U14s

An incredible season for the Market Harborough Youth Netball Club U14s as they hit record breaking heights, finishing 4th place in the National Youth Netball Club U14s Finals.

The National Clubs tournament brings together the top 18 teams from the nine regions of England, two teams representing each region. The first day was a huge success for the Market Harborough youngsters, with their skills on show on this national stage. Having never experienced this level of competition before, the girls took on all challenges, losing only once to the formidable Oldham Netball Club.

The results from day one saw the 18 teams split into three groups who would compete on day two for three separate areas of competition, 1st to 6th, 7th to 12th & 13th to 18th.

The grit and determination of their play and their combined competitive spirit saw Market Harborough, the under dogs of the competition, overturn some of the best performance pathway clubs in the UK to reach the 'top 6' group for day two.

Day two started in the best possible way for Market Harborough as they took another win, turning over a regular 'top 6' club to reach the bronze medal match!

Their final match found Market Harborough on court against Eagles Netball Club whose clubmates had reached the final of the U16s tournament. The team put up a valiant performance and showed some amazing skill and tenacity, but it was not a win. The result saw Market Harborough Youth Netball Club, an all-inclusive club, place 4th at the National Finals. The team went from unknown outsiders asked by numerous teams on day one 'who are you?' to a team playing against the top flight of club netball.

Market Harborough is a completely inclusive club, training all girls who wish to play netball without holding any ability trials ahead or during the season. They were the only representatives in this competition not to be a performance pathway club and are hugely proud of their inclusivity and the club ethos.
