Hinckley & Bosworth and West Leicester Triumph at the School Games Table Tennis Finals!

The School Games Y5/6 Boys and Girls Table Tennis finals took place on Wednesday, 20th November at Knighton Park Table Tennis Club. The competition brought 13 schools across the districts to compete for the title and Spirit of the Games trophy.

The girls got the day started as 8 teams played in two groups to determine the final play off matches. There was an excellent standard of play and behaviour throughout the competition, with some very close games and some drawn matches, which meant all medals were divided on points and there was very little standing between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

However it was Hinckley & Bosworth's St Peters C of E Primary School that secured the victory in the girls competition, with West Leicester's Avenue Primary in 2nd and Melton's Bottesford Primary School in 3rd place, and Rutland won the spirit of the games trophy for their superb attitude in losing some extremely close games.

In the boys final it was West Leicester's Avenue Primary school who claimed victory, with Hinckley & Bosworth's Burbage Junior School in 2nd and Rutland's St Mary and St John C.E.V.A Primary in 3rd place. The Spirit of the Games trophy went to Bottesford Primary for demonstratinf the core values: passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, teamwork and determination.
