Leicestershire CCC Announce £99 Membership

Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) is launching an ambitious new strategy which will continue to deepen the relationship of its players with the community and to assert itself as a hub to nurture young cricketing talent.

A vital component to the plan is the club's players – our local heroes – who will inspire more people to play cricket at a grassroots level, whatever their age, gender or ability.

In line with this, the club can today announce a new simple membership structure that gives under 12s free entry while people aged 23 and above pay just £99 for their annual membership package – the best value on the county circuit.

Further, Young Adult and Junior Fox memberships are still available to purchase at £49 and £15 respectively.

The £99 membership is inclusive of all county championship and one day fixtures and comes with the option of adding a T20 Vitality Blast season ticket at a special price of £50 for membership purchasers.

With interest in cricket reaching new heights following the world cup heroics by England in the summer, Karen Rothery, CEO for LCCC, said it is a very exciting time for the sport and as a club we are looking to embrace our local heroes and transfer that interest over to not only the county game, but the grassroots game as well.

"This club is a fantastic asset within the community, and we want more people to feel that cricket is for them. We want to assist that by offering people the best value membership for county cricket games, as well as taking the game to them through various club initiatives such as the coaching clinics and the summer camps where players visit local clubs and help develop the younger age groups."

Children under the age of 12 will be entitled to a free Junior Cub Membership and will be able to attend all of the Leicestershire Foxes home matches including the T20 Blast. They will also have the chance to meet Charlie Fox and the players during the post-match signing session, as well as have the chance to be the matchday mascot.

"Our fans and the local community are essential parts of the club, and as part of Leicestershire's rich sporting culture we want to further engage and inspire the next generation," Karen explained.

"Lewis Hill and Harry Swindells are two talented players born and bred in the region who have represented LCCC after proving themselves in their local teams; we would love to discover and support more talent like this through our academy.

"But it is not just the locally-born players who are our new local heroes, we also have the fantastic Hassan Azad who posted the most runs in Division Two last season, Colin Ackermann who holds the world-record for bowling figures in a T20 fixture, and Alex Evans, who took four first-class wickets during his Foxes debut."

Leicestershire-born wicketkeeper-batsman Lewis Hill explains how impactful players can be in delivering the game at a grassroots level: "We as players enjoy coaching as part of the community team's initiatives.

"As someone born and raised in Leicestershire, it is great to see so much participation within the coaching clinics and the summer camps that the community team work so hard on.

"Personally, I think it is important to help grow the game amongst the younger age groups and inspire young people to play the sport."

Karen added: "It is our vision to deliver an outstanding experience to everyone who wants to take part in the sport, as well as encouraging people to enjoy sport more frequently – which includes everyone regardless of age, gender or ability.

"All our players are flying the flag for Leicestershire and we want more people in the community to do the same too."

With our new progressive approach at LCCC, we hope to see the relationship between club and fanbase strengthen as well as the interest grow amongst our younger fans with our new great value membership.
