Over 140 women from across LLR have been moving more, getting active and trying new things during Week 1 of our 'Move This March' event!
Despite our annual 'This Girl Can Charity Night Out' having to be cancelled, that hasn't stopped us getting creative and inspiring more women across our region to move more through our brand NEW virtual 'Move This March' campaign.
The event has been a success so far, with over 140 women of all ages and abilities attending new, exciting exercise sessions which they may never have done before - one being 'Bollysass Class' which was attended by over 50 participants on Tuesday night to turn, shake, strut and dance the night away.
As we move into Week 2 there will be lots of special events taking place to celebrate International Women's Day today, as well as Mothering Sunday so keep an eye out for the local press over the next few days to see some inspirational LLR women!
There is still plenty of time to secured a ticket and join a group of like-minded women finding new ways to exercise for them. Plus, there is NO limit to the amount of sessions you can book onto!
We know how hard it is to stay motivated right now, or to connect with new people so there is a dedicated Facebook group for the event, which has been a great way for many to form a This Girl Can community and cheer each other on in their exercise journey's.
For all those who buy a ticket you will receive a FREE #ThisGirlCan t-shirt and water bottle.
All of the funds raised through ticket sales will go to support the work of Hope Against Cancer. They are LLR's local cancer research charity, funding cutting-edge research and providing clinical trials for local people. They partner with local universities and hospitals to make sure that Leicestershire is a hub of expertise in cancer research and treatment. Since their set up in 2003, they have funded over 60 research projects tackling cancer.
So, ladies it is time to have some fun and feel great again!!
