Daily Boost 'Dance MAYnia' Challenge & Winners Announced

Daily Boost challenges have been a hit so far with Leicester-shire, Leicester & Rutland schools, and the most recent Dance MAYnia challenge has been no exception as we announce our latest challenge winners.

We know schools have faced tough times throughout this last year and the introduction of termly Daily Boost challenges is a great way to celebrate the amazing things pupils and teachers get up to outside of the classroom as well as in it. The challenge ran from 4th May - 4th June, and a number of resources were created to encourage schools to get up and about to bust some moves in their classroom bubbles.

During the challenge we have seen over 1,179 pupils taking part in 15-minutes of physical activity throughout the school day, achieving a whopping 6,650 days worth of activity at school! All this information is showcased on the Daily Boost Tracker page where we celebrate every school that takes part with this free*, fun programme.

As with the spring challenge, this latest challenge offered the chance for schools to win big prizes and the winners have now been chosen:

  • New Registered School £50 Winner = Congerstone Primary School
  • Twitter Engagement Post £50 Winner = Orchard Community Primary School
  • Daily Boost Tracker Data Upload £100 Winner = Badgerbrook Primary School

Each of these winning schools will feature on the Daily Boost webpage and receive sport equipment vouchers, which they can use to put towards any equipment they feel they need for the whole school to make use of and have fun with to carry on Daily Boost activity! As well as receiving vouchers, these winning schools, alongside many others have achieved enough activity to receive some exciting boost bands for participating and reaching key physical activity milestones.

As well as this, schools had the opportunity to send in a video of the pupils practicing their dance moves and these routines will be showcased during the week of the 'Virtual School Games Summer Championship', running from 21st - 25th June! To watch these, make sure to be keeping an eye out on our social media and to find out more as to how your school could get involved with this programme, visit the website here.

Finally, congratulations to our winning schools, we hope you enjoy those prizes and keep up the good work. As we drawn nearer to the end of the academic year the Daily Boost Annual Awards will start to be announced, so make sure your school has submitted everything you need to be in with a chance of gaining one. Plus, this year we are introducing an exciting new award so watch this space!!
