Drowning Prevention Week - FREE water safety advice and resources

We all know too well, that across the UK and Ireland there is a spike in fatal drowning incidents during the summer months. 2021 is a crucial year to address a specific gap in school swimming and water safety education.

During 2020 and 2021, millions of young people have missed out on the opportunity to swim. In addition, typical participation in swimming and water safety for BAME communities is worryingly low and has been exacerbated by COVID. In 2021, Drowning Prevention Week will focus on the impact and wake left by COVID-19, with a particular aim to increase participation and understanding among under-represented communities.

This year, more than ever before, we need everyone to become our community water safety champions introducing schools, youth groups, swimming clubs and even individual families, to our critical information to keep our waterways fun, friendly and secure places to be.

Help the Royal Life Saving Society with the continued education of your communities. Through this campaign, the RLSS are encouraging everybody to access their FREE water safety advice and resources.

Find out more here. After completing the form you will be redirected to the resources.
