BBC Sports Personality of the Year's Unsung Hero Award 2021 - Final week of Nominations!

The nominations for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero 2021 award are open for 1 final week!

If you know anyone that has improved the lives of people within their communities in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland through grassroots sports and physical activity, be sure to nominate them for the Unsung Hero award before 23:59pm on Sunday 17th October 2021.

Enter your Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Hero here for a chance of winning.

To enter online for the Unsung Hero Award, your hero must be 16 or older. To nominate your Unsung Hero you must be over 18, or have consent from someone over 18. Nominations are open until 23:59pm on Sunday 17th October 2021. Entries can be either video or written submissions.

You can also enter your Hero by downloading a Word of PDF document and sending it to unsunghero@bbc.co.uk.

Your Unsung Heroes from Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland will be judged by your BBC nation or region and 15 winners are announced at this stage.

The 12 English winners join the national winners from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales for a final judging panel, of current and former sports stars and people active in sports volunteering.

The winners of the final will be announced live at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

This is the final week that voting will be active, any nominations made after 23:59pm on Sunday 17th October 2021 will not be counted. Nominate your Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Unsung Hero today!
