Stay on track. Get your vax wrapped up for the festive season

A Big Vaccination Weekend is taking place across the area this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 26-28, with extra clinics arranged to make it easy to get the Covid vaccine.

The vaccine takes a couple of weeks to reach its full effectiveness. With just four weeks to go until Christmas, this weekend is people's best chance to cross it off their list and get fully protected before meeting up with friends and family for the festive season.

Getting vaccinations and boosters continues to be the most effective way for people to protect themselves, friends and families. This is so important going into the winter when people will be gathering indoors more often and there will be a greater risk of transmission.

Clinics are taking place across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland during the weekend, and many are on a walk-in basis so people don't even need to make an appointment.

Set up specifically for this weekend, a vaccine clinic will be operating in the Highcross Shopping Centre, next door to Footlocker on the lower mall, opposite the former Debenhams unit and will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
