Activity Alliance’s Annual Disability and Activity Survey 21-22

Activity Alliance released their Annual Disability and Activity Survey in June which revealed that less than 3 in 10 disabled people feel encouraged to return to physical activity after the pandemic.

They have released a report linked to this survey, which highlights the key findings from people with different types of impairments.

The wider challenges disabled people face accessing sport and physical activity can often be similar regardless of impairment or condition. Feedback from Activity Alliance's member organisations, and disabled people, shows how useful and important it is to have a deeper understanding of the differences between the various types of impairments.

Activity Alliance's Annual Survey impairment report highlights the differences in key data points for people with the following impairments:

  • mobility,
  • learning, understanding, or concentrating,
  • long-term health condition,
  • mental health,
  • hearing,
  • visual, and
  • social or behavioural

Activity Alliance developed the report in consultation with their member organisations. It covers each impairment type and provides extra considerations and resources for the four Annual Survey recommendations.
