We Are Undefeatable Launch Event Success!

Every move enables more, one of several memorable phrases delegates who attended our We Are Undefeatable – Let's Get Moving Launch event this week would have heard. We Are Undefeatable is a movement that supports people with a range of long-term health conditions to find ways to be active. It was developed by 15 leading health and social care charities and backed by expertise, insight and significant National Lottery funding from Sport England. The event brought together local health and social care Charities providing them with an opportunity to hear about the campaign and connect with local partners and providers.

Move to your mood was another key phrase heard throughout the event. That's exactly what delegates were encouraged to do as Peter Dutton, campaign Activation Manager kicked off proceedings. Accompanied on screen by We Are Undefeatable campaign ambassador Gok Wan, delegates were invited to have a go at several fully inclusive, low intensity movements designed to energise their minds and bodies.

Let's Get Moving was a phrase that underpinned the whole event. Delegates heard about how Let's Get Moving aims to motivate you, me and every resident across Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland to move more and bring about a movement of positive physical activity change. This was demonstrated powerfully by our Let's Get Moving Champions Colin and Claire who both spoke about the life changing benefits of becoming more active and how they are now inspiring others.

The energy in the room during the plenary session was palpable. Several games of Boccia were played leading to many enquires about our revised Twilight Games package. Lots were discussing how they could take advantage of the Sport England Together Fund grant to help community groups survive, recover, sustain and grow. The event concluded by asking everyone to do 3 things:
