New Fund Launched to support community organisations with cost of living and lasting effects of COVID-19

Utilising Sport England's Together Fund, Active Together is seeking to identify local groups and organisations that can deliver physical activity and sport opportunities to priority communities as they recover from the pandemic and due to the cost of living crisis.

Aims of the Fund

Active Together would like to support community groups and organisations that deliver physical activity and sport locally to ensure that opportunities are continued to be offered to as many of our communities and residents as possible, in-spite on the ongoing challenges and barriers people may be facing at this current time, especially recovering from the pandemic and the current cost of living crisis. We have received funding from the Sport England Together Fund, to distribute to those most in need of support at this time.

Geographical area

Your project must be based in Leicester City, Leicestershire or Rutland and benefit residents living in these areas.

Your project will need to work with one or more of the following priority groups;

  • Lower Socio-Economic Groups (LSEG)
  • Black, Asian Minority Ethnic Communities
  • Disabled People
  • People with Long-Term Health Conditions (LTC).

Funding Deadlines

New applications will be considered from Monday 12th December 2022. Applications will be assessed on a rolling first come first served basis, until 31st January 2023 when the fund will close, unless funds have already been fully allocated before this date.

Funding Amount

The maximum amount of funding is £10,000. However, our average funding support is in the region of £3,000 - £5,000, so please only apply for what you really need so we can support as many organisations as possible.

Priority is likely to be given to organisations that have been unable to access funding from other sources in the last 12 months.
