On Friday 19th May I went against a tall and skillful boxer from the City of Leicester Lightning. He had a height and reach advantage on me, which I adjusted too with pressure and cutting the ring off with both clean body and head shots. This helped me to please the judges and win every round by unanimous decision.
My Head Coach told me that the judges described me as unstoppable.
Next month I should be participating in the Midlands Box Cup.
On Friday 7th April I attended Eastwood Amateur Boxing Club's Home Show in Nottinghamshire and was matched with a strong, tough and skillful opponent from Phoenix ABC in Nottingham. My coach said I put on a very good performance - was busy, tenacious and hard punching. I got hit below the belt in the 3rd round and lost my head and got counted to calm down. Once I arrived back home, I realised I should have handled it better. Something to work on in the future. Overall a good bout and I continue to train hard for any future bouts.
After weeks of hard training, fitness and a strict diet to get ready for our clubs Home Show on Friday 10th February, I won my 3rd Bout by a TKO in the second round with a worthy opponent.
I will continue to work and train hard for any upcoming bouts and hopefully developments in October.
I would like to thank all my coaches for their continued support, training and technical work.
I was nominated by my PE Teacher for the above award which I was very proud to receive. Below is why I was nominated:
Tarell has had a fantastic sporting year 2022. He has continued to develop as a boxer, at Heart of England Boxing Club, winning 2 junior bouts so far, as well as being selected to be part of the TLT Program for the second year running. This follows his success at the National Disability Athletics Championships 2022, where he won 3 Gold National Junior Titles 200m(28.75sec), 400m(65.63sec) and 800m(02:34.3). Tarell is an exceptional young athlete and will go on to do great things! He demonstrates excellent qualities away from the track/ring, successfully completing his Sports Leaders Level2, projects with Youth Sports Trust and the Move Like Me project, where he recorded online sessions for boxing, aimed at inspiring/including other young people with SEND to get active.

On Saturday 26th November 2022, I finally got to compete in an away Boxing Show in Leicester, home to Braunstone Golden Gloves. My opponent was a boxer from Rings based in Loughborough. The bout was to consist of 3 2 minute rounds, but the referee ended the bout and I won on stoppage in the first round. Unfortunately, the bout on 3rd December had been cancelled, but I continue to train hard and prepare myself for our next Home Show in February 2023.
Now that I have had 2 bouts, my Head Coach will now be able to put me through to championships next year, which I am excited about. In the meantime, I will take every chance I get to spar at other clubs as and when the opportunity arises.
Friday night's bout was sadly cancelled, but Saturday's still went ahead. This was my first bout after having 4 skills bouts, to which I won by a unanimous decision.
I was very pleased with the outcome after all my hard work and effort during training at Heart of England Boxing Club, despite 2 bouts being cancelled late last year due to Covid.
I would like to thank all the coaches at my boxing club for their time, advice and excellent training, as well as what I have learned and gained from taking part in the Team Leicestershire Talent workshops. Especially Dr Philip Clarke's session on Effective Preparation - Pre-Performance Bubble and Mental Fitness, which helped me a lot to prepare for my bout on the day.

I've been training hard over the past couple of months preparing for my fight in a couple of weeks. Dr Philip Clarke psychology workshop, effective preparation sessions has helped me mentally prepare for my fight, and has helped me to know when to get in my bubble and what tactics I'm going to use. I now think what I'm going to do before my fight starts, what I'm going to tell my self and what I'm going to do with my opponent.
