Watermead Country Park Volunteer

As a Watermead County Park Volunteer you will be working as part of a team, undertaking various park habitat management jobs as well as maintenance work.

Skills/Equipment Required:

Enthusiasm and a willingness to try different jobs

Fitness Level Required:

A reasonable level of fitness is required

What to Wear and Bring:

Volunteers should wear boots/wellingtons, warm older clothing and a waterproof coat depending on the weather

Duration of Each Session:

Each session is 4 hours

Frequency of Sessions:

Sessions take place on the 1st and 4th Thursday of each month, apart from the month of August

Access Considerations:

Sessions involve working in wet areas, on uneven ground, working near water courses and woodland work

Risks:

Outdoor work, trips, slips and cuts

Additional Comments:

A health and safety talk will be given on the jobs that are being undertaken as well as a tool check. There will be a tea break half-way through the sessions so please bring a snack and hot drink
